Monday Mindshift | How to Love Mondays

Bonjour mes amies! Monday, oh, Monday, one of the most dreaded days of the week. Monday has gotten such a bad rap that the day before has become scary “Sunday Scaries.”

For most people avec traditional nine to five’s, Monday signifies the beginning of a new week, or most saddening, the end of the weekend.

Many, many moons ago, I accepted the harsh reality; I can’t stop the weekend from ending or Monday from beginning.

So I simply began to enjoy Mondays.

Several factors led to my new look on Monday.

The first and most heartbreaking being, on a particular Monday, I was notified that a dear friend of mine suddenly died, Sunday night.

It was at that moment that I REALIZED just how much of a blessing it was for me to have been chosen to wake up that day, Monday.”

In true human nature, after my heart healed and I learned to cope with the sudden loss of a dear friend, Monday became the antithesis of happiness, again.

So, in addition to my nature of gratitude, I begin to do something less cosmic and more outwardly fabuleux.

I began to schedule as much fun as I could on Monday.

A Monday in 2019 (recorded at 4:30 am before work) wearing my favorite shoes and one of my favorite dresses.

When I worked in an office, I scheduled cafe dates avec my favorite people for Monday morning. As if that were not enough, I allocated Monday as the day I would order the most indulgent drink on the cafe’s menu. I wore my favorite OOTD on Monday, and I scheduled services such as manicures and massages.

Once I begin doing things that I “loved” on Mondays, I began to do the unthinkable

I began to look forward to Monday

Overindulging may not be feasible every Monday, but there are beaucoup things you can do to combat melancholy Monday’s.

1. If you have a favorite show, don’t binge over the weekend. Instead, save an episode or two that you must wait until Monday to watch.

2. If you have one day a week that you order food or dine out versus cooking, switch that day to Monday (Friday was once my takeout day.)

3. The item you’ve been “saving” wear/use it on Monday. For the most part, I don’t save anything (but money.) I wear my furs, luxury goods, etc., but there are some items that I don’t use as often. Pour example, a tres, tres, tres expensive bottle of perfume that I had custom-made a Paris. Monday’s were once the days that I used my quasi-signature scent.

4. Do the thing that you love. Whatever it is that brings you joy, do that on Monday. If it’s enjoying a piece of chocolate and not sharing it with your kids (or partner), do that.

Our minds are more powerful than we could ever fathom. A simple shift in thought can change your entire day or life.

I dope hope that these petit tips and a surprise Monday blog brightens your day.

Ciao for now 💋
