Bonjour mes amies!
I was truly reluctant to even touch this subject in the mist of the awful reality Black/African Americans are currently enduring.
I soon decided that it was pivotal to have this conversation because there is power in the way that Black women/people spend green dollars.
With the recent “Black Out” on social media and a call for businesses to support the Black Lives Matter movement, I couldn’t help but to reflect on the very real racist and prejudices that many of my beloved designer brands were founded on.
In the video below, I ask and do my best to devise a plan for whats next regarding Black women/people and supporting brands that did not and have not supported us. I will add that this video does not begin to touch the surface of the pseudo connection that many Black women/people have with luxury brands.
For many, myself included, obtaining these brands were an indicator of status and accomplishment. Since I was une petite fille , my goal was to be surround by all things luxurious.
