When I first shared the idea of Rendez-vous à Paris, I honestly wasn’t sure who would say “Oui.” It is “last-minute” (mais vintage mes amies know that I will book a 14 hr flight the morning of.) It is also during a U.S. holiday. Most people are preparing turkeys, not passports.

But then… the messages started coming in.

“Jessie, I’ve been through so much this year, I need this.”
“I lost someone I loved, and I just need to breathe again.”
“I’m ready to do something for me.”

And that’s when I realized this trip isn’t about escaping life. It’s about feeling alive again.

The mes amies joining me are bold. Brave. The kind of women who said “Oui”, even when it doesn’t make sense, because something inside whispered “J’ai besoin de ça.”

And I questioned it at first, I did. Would anyone really leave the U.S. during Thanksgiving week to sip champagne á Paris avec moi?

But they did. And that “Oui” has become the heartbeat of this journey.
